| Happy Birthday, Emma Watson!
As a huge fan of the "Harry Potter" franchise, I'm pretty sad that the movie series is almost at an end. But when the book closes on the "Potter" films, the door will open wide for actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson — the latter of whom just so happens to be celebrating her 20th birthday today!
It's no easy feat to take Hermione Granger from the insufferable know-it-all of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" to the sympathetic, warm-hearted student she becomes by the end of "The Deathly Hallows." It's certainly hard to imagine another young actress pulling off the transformation as brilliantly as Emma, who reportedly almost left the franchise after "Order of the Phoenix" in 2007 — like Daniel with Harry and Rupert with Ron, Emma had become synonymous with Hermione, and the thought of future "Harry Potter" films without her was unfathomable.
Luckily, Emma was convinced to return for the final installments of the series, beginning with last year's "The Half-Blood Prince." With only the two-part "Deathly Hallows" remaining to premiere, Emma and her co-stars have successfully taken J.K. Rowling's beloved characters from start to finish over the course of eight movies — pretty impressive when you think about it!
What the future holds for Emma is currently unclear. While her young co-stars have branched out with other films, Emma's credits outside of the "Harry Potter" franchise are few. But given the talent she's shown as Hermione Granger over the years, there's no question that the young actress could have a very bright future on the screen for many years to come.
